HI all, Apparrently I need new rear brake drums. The existing ones are grooved and will not take another machining, they're too thin. Car is a V6 auto Skylark with open axle and I believe 3.02 gears. The drums measure the following: Inside lining - 60 mm exactly or just over 2 1/4 inches The new shoes are 2" wide Internal diameter of the swept area - 9 1/2 inches Lip to lip diameter of the outside of the braking surface - 10" Outer overall diameter - 12" And 5 bolt A body PCD (4 3/4 inch??) My question is, although new ones are $35 each, I am here in Ireland, they weigh 15lbs each and shipping would be about $140. I checked on a Raybestos part #2091 and it seems it interchanges with a Chevy Chevelle/ Monte Carlo/ Malibu/ Camaro and even Caprice right up to 1992! Can you believe that??o No: I guess I can actually. If you guys with your superior knowledge can confirm that they hopefully I can pick up a new or decent pair over here for a lot less dollars. Thanks guys, regards, Nick
Nick, when I'm looking for interchange info, I'll just look up the 2 applications and see if the part numbers match. You can use an online store like www.rockauto.com , or better yet, find a manufacturers catalog. There are a number of catalogs avail online here: http://www.partsplus.com/showpage.php?page_id=ecatalogs.htm Try the Raybestos catalog.:TU:
