GSJohn BUICK is a beauty too!!

We are putting up for sale our 65 Skylark GS post "thin pillar" coupe.
1263 thin pillar automatic coupes produced in 65. Not many around.
The car runs and drives as nice as it looks. The car is in beautiful condition. 73,000 miles. It has the Wildcat 445 (401 ci), ST300 automatic transmission that doesn't skip a beat! AM radio that works great.
Power steering, non A/C, automatic with console. ORIGINAL INTERIOR! It has new dual Flowmaster exhaust, new plugs and wires and points. 6 year old paint, Regal Black over Arctic White body. This is not a vinyl top, it is a painted top. Front and rear bumpers were rechromed at the same time it was painted. The ventiports were rechromed last year. Runs perfect, 17 mpg!
The floorboards are original and are rock solid. The car has a posi rear end. The car has newer tires, approx 7000 miles on them, newer brakes. Brake drums were repainted this past summer (cast iron color). Car has the the 4S code on the cowl tag for the GS option. It has the original silver headliner, splined steering shaft, and boxed frame that the GS came with.
Nothing wrong with it, fly in and drive it home if you like. I have more photos on the way, I will download as soon as the moderator puts this on line.
The car is located in Neillsville, Wisconsin and we are asking $18,500.00 OBO. The car is worth it. Needs nothing, scored 368 points out of 400 at this years National Meet in Rochester. Deductions were mainly due to non GM/Delco filters, belts and hoses as well as the tires and rims, etc. If you have any questions, call or email. I would like to sell before winter.
    Thanks, John

How far are you from New Berlin or Germantown ? A friend of mine that lives there may want to see the car . Car looks great , any patches or panels ? I have another dual quad set-up and perfect dual snorkel chrome air cleaner that would look great on it , but missing the kick-down bracket and switch .

    Thanks ,

    George

Hello George, and Thanks for your interest. New Berlin and Germantown are on the west side of Milwaukee and are about 3.5 to 4 hours from me. I am located in Neillsville, Wisconsin, one hour southeast of Eau Claire on state highway 10. Your friend would take Interstate 94 from Milwaukee to Madison then north on I-94 to Black River Falls. I am 30 minutes northeast of
Black River Falls, Wisconsin. Regarding the car, there are no patches and all the quarters and fenders are very solid. The floorboards are original and solid. The panels are nice and straight (see photo below) and the door seams are near perfect. The car runs great as it is, I am sure it would be awesome with a dual quad set-up on it!! :3gears:
I am pretty picky about my stuff George, and I know he would not be disappointed. Let me know if you have any other questions, I will be home this weekend if he wants to see it. Just email or give me a call.
    Thanks, John

LOL LOL LOL Very good Rich!! :Brow: Thanks for the kind words about the car, I am selling for a couple reasons, I hope to help the out college student, and eventually buy a lesser priced Buick. I knew I would have to do this, and therefore I am prepared to let her go, and yes I will be sorry. :Dou: I would take you up on the trade offer, but my wife would oust me if I had three cars!!!  I think you can feel my pain! Now, if you had your 69 400 done,.......I'd trade in a heartbeat!! :TU:
    I will keep you posted.

John, do you know whether or not the car has it's original drivetrain components such as engine, trans, rearend? I am over in Southern MN and think I saw your car down at Rochester. Very nice car you have. I had the originial 1916 Buick D55 that was out in back at that show. Thanks very much,

Hi Andrew and thanks for your interest. The driveline is complete and original. To my knowledge, the engine and transmission have never been out of the car. I am the 4th owner and the fellow I bought it from had never had them out. The engine did have an "in car" repaint before I bought it. It has the ST300 2 speed transmission, and the rear differential is a posi 3.23. It runs and drives beautifully. The steering is tight with no play at all. The engine uses no oil and the response is immediate. Come on over and take it for a drive, you'll want to drive it home! Let me know if you have any other questions. By the way, I remember your D55, a neat piece of history I must say! John
