A couple things in that pic that doesn't look right, the roof drip moldings look like 64,and the hood in the front where BUICK is,is 64, 65 should have a hood emblem sticking up on the front in the center of the hood.

Nice looking car though,if you find some one to look at it for you, tell them to look at the frame, the frame on a 65 GS is boxed in like a convert. But from the pic it looks like a 64 converted to a 65 GS.

If it was an original 65 GS,that dealership would put a 2 in front of that 4. It looks good though, might be able to get the price to $3,000 if some one pointed all of that out. Beware of bad body work though, there is very little after market body panel support with these cars,so it might be all filler.

You do have good taste though.

Just an FYI, that is a 65 all day long.

It is missing the hood emblem. 65's also have the BUICK on the hood.

For the drip moldings I'm not sure how you can tell the difference between 64 and 65 since they are the same except the way they physically mount. The halo moldings were on 64 and 65 cars. The only way to tell the difference on those if you took them off and see if they has screws to hold the tracks or welded on studs. Drip moldings are all the same for those cars. I've had about 20 of 'em.

But the only GS parts on that car is most likely the grille emblem. If you call that a "GS conversion". It looks like a pretty good deal for the money with that pic. But more pics would be nice.

I stand corrected, didn't know the 65s had both the emblem, and the BUICK on them.

And for the "halo" I thought that was 64 only, because of the 65 I had with a vinyl top(no BUICK on hood),the "halo" wasn't there and the panel behind the rear side window was covered, and my 64 with a vinyl top was not.

And yes,if it was an original GS,they would have a 2 in front of the 4. ($24,999)(or at least a 1 in front) Unless they really don't know what they have, that is a great deal if thats the case.

The ad says "Gran Sport ACCENTS" --- I think that's the dealer's way of saying it's not for real, just wearing the emblem.

Skylark is a better looking car with side moldings and halo trim on top . Just love the 401 of the Gran Sport with floor shift ...
