Does anyone know what battery came in the '65 Skylark GS from the factory? I was told that they are not reproduced, and if so, what is the closest thing to that is available that will look correct?
Brian, there is a guy in DC that has some repros left that he had made for 65, and I think 66 GS. If my memory isn't failing, I think they were slightly taller than a regular 24 series battery. Not cheap though. I can dig up his number if you want. He had an ad for a couple of them in a GSX-Tra a couple issues back. Mark
That would be great if you can get his contact info for me Mark and I will talk to him. The one I have in my '66 came from Antique Auto battery, and it has a sealed battery inside of it that is good for 7+ years. If I could get at least a case for an original I could send it to them and have it re-made with one of the sealed batteries inside of it. A true reproduction with original style internals in it will last at best 3 years.
