65 Riv question about toggle switch next to vent pull

    A buddy of mine has a 65 riviera and asked me if i knew about a toggle switch thats located on the drivers side right next to the vent pull handle,does anyone know what its for?any help appreciated.

    George, this is probably the tripometer reset.

    The tripometer is a toggle switch?

    this is the switch right next to the vent pull handle.

    i have no clue because i havent seen it in person yet,he called me and asked but i told him i had no clue and that i`d ask on the board.

    I doubt that's a stock item. Only way to tell what it does is flip the swtich, or trace the wires.

    Yea i thought the same but then he sent me pics of others cars and that same switch is there,we dont live close.

    Well I stand corrected. A quick eBay search revealed multiple cars with a switch in that exact same spot. Very odd.

    Is it in fact a switch or a knob? It may also be for the speed-alert buzzer setting.

    I think Tom already nailed it. It's not an electrical toggle switch, it's the mechanical trip meter (odometer) reset.
