I`d try to chew him down alittle but if you cant still jump on it its conv`t,4-speed and has the 2x4 bbl set up on it,even if it needs alittle work its worth it.

    Thanks

Check the top and bows, make sure they are in good shape. Generally speaking, even a small tear in a top means a new top, which can be expensive unless you can do it yourself. If you can't do it yourself, figure on at least $1k for a new one, even more if all of the bows and mechanisms aren't working properly.

George, do you know if there are any "hard to find" or expensive parts for these that he wants to make sure the car has? How about the grilles?

If the engine, top, interior and chrome are all in good shape and you are just talking about body and paint work (which is easy for you), then knock him down in price a little and scoop it up!

Sweet, take some pic's if you can. I looked for a long time to find "that" car but it just didn't show up for me in time.
Parts not to be found would be repair panels or repoped sheet metal for 64-65's and steering wheels are golden. Pretty much everthing else can be found with time and money.

Okay, looked at the car tonight....I don't know if its a GS or not and it really don't matter at this point....it has a 401 with 2 4's but they didn't come on that car...it has a alum intake with elders on it...it also has headers....as far as the 4 speed..its all there but the car has a auto in it...the clutch pedal and all the bars are on the fire wall but its a auto......now for the real problems...the body is pretty nasty....it needs quarters, it needs a left outer wheel house, and it needs a hood.....these 4 things are a must...the left rear body mount on the body, the first one just behind the left rear wheel is pretty much gone.......what I need to know is.....is there anyone that makes quarters for this car??...even lower sections would be nice...say from the body line down....this is a VERY cool looking car...but I do body work for a living and boy does it need me....questions is do I need it:puzzled: .....if I can't find parts for this car then I can't help the thing.....be a real shame to see this car go to waste....ol, there aint no way its worth the asking price.....Thanks once again for all your help!

James as for the rear quarter panels you either cut a good one off another car or you make your own or fix what you have.
As for other body parts they can be found, just ask. I know of 65 hood for sale on this board if you needed it. I'm picking up convertible doors for mine this weekend.
Your right it's a cool car but not worth that kind of money in that condition

I hate to be MR. Negative

But it sounds more like a basket case to me, worth more like $1,000-$1,500 tops.:Do No:

No wonder it has been sitting, the guy thinks it a gold mine.:af:

Don't know about the accuracy of the $'s

They have show condition GSX's in the 20-30 range?

It seems most people have MORE $ in parts than the cars are worth.:puzzled:

I did read it on the the net, so we know it must be correct.
