I agree that a double flare on a tranny line is probabaly overkill. But interestingly, my original tranny lines do have double flared ends. Just a FYI...

I have bad news Cheryl. I thought I had those lines, but they aren't there. I moved a bunch of lines to my storage building in VA when I moved houses last year, but they all fit cars with 300 engines. The only thing I can figure is that when I sold the transmission to Artie (used to be NJVETTEGUY here on the board) I gave the lines to him with it. I am going to keep looking, and if they turn up, I will let you know.

Thanks anyway Brian. I am just going to send off the picture and see if CT can bend them. I will report back here with the results. I don't want to bend them myself.

    Cheryl,
Have you talked to a place called "Fine Lines" ? The guy there made all the brake lines on my GS for me. I sent him my old ones (cut the long one in half and marked it) and he made them for me from the originals. He gave me a discount since it was the first set he had gotten for a '65 GS and I let him keep the originals. I had a guy locally make my fuel lines before I discovered the guy at fine-lines. They are all made out of SS.

My 65 Gs has a cross flow rad. with the lines on the left side then crossing over to the rt side of the trans just like the th400.
I think the stock lines for the st400 will work for the th400.
The lines on the left side tank are vertical of course rather than horizontal like the old style rad.s
I still have them some where but I dont have the means to take a digital pic of them.

Classic Tube reviewed the picture I sent them of the transmission lines from the 65 manual. They said it matches their part # SGT1007 exactly. I ordered the lines in stainless for $79 (OE steel would have been $49). Shipping is $18 for a total of $97. I will report back on the fitment.

I wanted to report back that these lines fit my 65 GS with the 401, stock radiator and ST 300 transmission very nicely. The fittings were correct and they just needed minor tweaks here and there. These lines have a lot of bends to clear the pan, transmission tube, oil filter, cross-member and steering box. I am glad I did not have to bend them. I am very satisfied for the price, and the stainless will outlast the rest of the car. Maybe this will help someone else?

    Cheryl,

Try OPGI.com. This is Original Parts Group in Huntington Beach, CA. They have a listing in their catalog for most lines and may have these as well. They have great parts and they have always been of the best quality. They deal only in "A" bodies and one "G" body.
