I know nothing about the car but had planned on going to look at it if not sold on ebay. I can't get out that way before the auction ends.

    All 65 GS's decode as a Skylark. It wasn't until 1966 that GS's got a GS-only VIN.

65 GS should have a 'LR' code 401 and an ID number that matches the last 6 digits of the cars VIN.

Ok, thanks, I thought they started the "46" in 1965 but good info. If that is the case the car seems somewhat legit and likely worth a look.

44437 in 65 is a gs seems to have all the right stuff to indicate that it is a 65 gs i would go look at it.

I usually look at Skylarks, not GSs. Any thoughts on what this car is realistically worth based on the info/pics provided in the ebay listing? I'm curious about the current value, not what it might have been worth 2-3 years ago.

    Cheers

Like they say... it's worth what someone is willing to pay for it!
I was guessing reserve is between $12-15k. Current bid is $11.5k and reserve is not met.
Solid, low-mileage GS's are far and few between. There is a lot of overpriced stuff out there, but for a mint condition car, you're looking at $15-25k. If you get lucky, a barn find at $8k that needs freshening up is about the best you are likely to find. Even solid project cars can go for $6k.

I was going to 'guess' $10-$12 for this one. It seems to be a low option car in need of a lot of little things. It's also been 'sitting' for 12 years so some mechanical issue will almost certainly present themselves. Then again, I don't usually look at the GSs so I could be way off.
