I have noticed that Year One sells a one piece front to rear brake line for the '66 Skylark Convertible. That would tell me that it is the same as the one on the '66 GS since it uses the convertible frame. Is the '65 Skylark GS front to rear brake line the same as the '66? I know they both have single master cylinders that go to one junction block on the frame, and a '65 and '66 frame are identical from what I can tell. Anyone know if there is a difference? If they are the same I am going to order one to use on my '65 Skylark GS.
Not me...But I do have a bare '66 frame here, and the lines I pulled from it...if I can help somehow.
brake line I did a frame off on my 66 conv...and my friend did a 65...the frames and brake lines are the same on a GS...ther are 2 different styles of frames....and I have both on my 66's...wierd but true...
Jim....what do you mean 'two different styles of frames'....are they both GS/convertible frames?.....I once saw a '66 GS that had a different front crossmember, but I thought that car had been pieced together, as there were many oddities on that car... Which plant did your '66's come from?
Yup walt your right the cross member is different... my hardtop has a different crossmember than my coupes or convs... It was the early style crossmember had a welded "V" on the front point then later it seemed to blend in at the point....still part of the frame...but different...most 65's have the early style"V"..my hardtop was built in nov of 65 in Baltimore..its actually the first 66 gs I have seen with the early frame design... whatcha think about them apples?
