I was hoping to win the pair on ebay, but some guy named fbmust sniped the auction. Does anyone have a pair they don't need? My convertible has homemade plates, and I can't mount the power steering or alternator supports because of the way they were made. Thanks, Dan

    Hi Bruce,
Thanks for the reply. These are the GS plates that allow the big block motor to be installed in the Skylark for '65 and '66 GS option. They bolt to the block, and the mounts bolt to them. Thanks, Dan

    Alan,
I got the sense from Dan, that he wants to sell the whole set as a package, but he didn't specify an asking price. It sounds like you need the whole set, and I have the homemade plates that will do for now...I will let you and Dan make a deal if you want, and keep looking for the plates by themselves. Dan

Dan, why not make the plates out of a 3/4" thick block of aluminum & drill them for chevy mounts. Nothing sophistatcated, just a little work.

soreloser has a print on the plates he sent me it is at the office. You can contact him. I was going to build them until I figured out that I also need the frame to plate mounts.

    Mounts.

I've been looking for a set for about a Year. I picked up a "66-425 with the hopes of installing it in my 65. I have a template that I downloaded from here, but I don't know what kind of Motor Mounts or frame pads to use. I was hoping that the factory used the same frame pads for a 300, but that would be too easy. Any help or info would be deeply appreciated!! :TU:

Ponch, these are the 3-bolt chev motor mounts that could work in place of the correct Buick mounts. You might be able to use the standard chev frame mounts with these, but would probably have to adjust mount location or height.

This post has the dimensions. I may try to remove the mounts and take more measurements of the whole assembly. If I had the spare time I would machine a complete conversion kit for nailhead with mounts and 4 speed linkage.

    Mount's

Dan; Pick up a '65 GS Shop Manual. It show's the adapter plate and it's relation to the Engine and Mounts. The Plates just need to be ground down to about a Quarter inch thick to accomodate the P.S. and Alt. brackets in just one spot over the plate hole. I was going to make up a set, but with the scarcity of Mount's and Pad's, I just said to hell with it. Living in Buick Town and no old Buick parts!! What's the country coming to!! Also Jimmy, How did You find an old GS in a Yard? We don't have anything older than '90s stuff. I get looked at like I'm from Mars if I ask for something older. If You can find that old GS, I'd get everything off of it I could. It probably has a lot of good parts on it. Not to mention the Engine mounting parts. If nobody want's them, let me know.

You could just buy my old green car and you will have everything you need plus spare parts. It's on ebay. It is almost to the reserve.
