I continue to have problems getting my 65 425 2x4 carbs to idle or any adjustment out of the brass adjustment screw. the throttle plates are closed and I have check for any vaccum leaks and cant find any. I can start the car and it will run as long as I am giving it gas. when I let the gas off it dies immediatly. I have also check the timing and it is timed correctly. I have replaced the PCV valve.
Any suggestions on how to identify the problem?

    thanks

Have you checked the fuel pressure?
I had a similar problem, changed to single 4bbl, no change, then changed fuel pump, that fixed it.
Unfortunately, I had a problem like that on another car and I never have tracked it down. It had an electric fuel pump and mechanical. The car has had the engine completely rebuilt now and has not been run yet.

    Idle circuit??

Is it possible that the idle mixture is too lean?...too rich? to support the engine. Once it goes to idle, the idle circuit takes over, If I'm correct, the brass screw, the big one in the middle, controls idle speed but not mixture. Maybe you've already checked that but, if not, try closing the mixture screws all the way and then opening them two or two and a half turns. This shoud be enough to get it to idle. If that's the problem that is.
