I have two original 6462849 oil pressure sending units for sale. These are the correct units for 71-72 GSs with gauges. They are 60lb units with the 1/4" NPT fitting. One is dated coded 168 0 and the other is 232 0. The 168 0 unit has some light surface rust. The 232 0 unit has its original black finish and looks good but has one very slight ding on the upper edge, probably wouldn't even see it with fresh paint. $65 each plus shipping. May consider a trade for a 6462137 unit correct for Pontiacs.
Got this PM from the seller. Needs to read and follow the selling rules for the board! I guess I should've known better than to buy from a new member with only 2 posts. uzzled: Oh, and take me off the interested list, please.
"72Staged" PMed almost immediately regarding the 232 sender even though he did not post to this thread, so, that should give him dibs. He PMed earlier tonight and said he needed one for a 70 GS instead so wasn't interested in mine anymore. So, it is now yours if you are still interested. I do my best to be fair and honest with everyone. I am new to this board but not unfamiliar with GSs as I have owned a few of them. I hang out mostly on the Performance Years board since I currently own Pontiacs and believe I have a very good rep out there with over 1,100 posts. I have never had an issue there as members expect that PMs count as contacting the seller.
Dean, Take it easy. I PMed interest and questions as I have several senders and do not know their application. I was hoping that Pat could help me and was looking to do a trade for one I have. Pat's is not what I need. Kick me if you need to do so. Mike
OK, I went back and read the posting rules and it was my bad. Racer is correct that it says PMs don't count towards dibs. This is different than on the PY board that I am used to where PMs are encouraged to do business. I should have read it closer beforehand so I apologize.
Dean, I know Mike very well, and he is a great board member who has always been very helpful to anyone that needs something. It sounds like he was only asking a question in the PM he sent, and the new board member thought it placed him in front of you since the PM was sent before your post. I wouldn't let this mis-understanding prevent you from getting a part you need for your car. Mike, The correct part # for a 70 Stage 1 is 6462558, and it is an 80 psi unit. Here is a pic, but this one is on a car that I sold. Hope this helps.
