    Dan,
    Some of these i was able to retrieve right from this forum from other members cars that were posted. Here is what i have and if anyone else would like to chime in, it is really appreciated.

    FB....Flint Michigan

    W=Tinted windshield only
    2p=Conflicting info on this code
    5z=Seat belt option???
    Trim=Wedgewood white interior/with bucket seats?
    HH=Light blue/Convertible top
    4=Does anyone know??????

    This convertible car has buckets, is light blue in color, has the white interior, has the seatblets.
    The car had a repaint and restoration about 12 years ago and presents itself very nicely. Think it has the 300 in it, not sure if original, have to pull the power steering to check the block. Convertible top is new, big plus.
    That last code (4), if anyone knows what that is i would love to know, it has something to do with the paint and there is a star after it.

    Any help at all on this is appreciated.
    Thanx in advance.

    the motor option on the 64's are the fireball v6 1 barrel 155 hp and the v8- 300 -2 barrel 210 hp(310 wildcat) or the 300 -4 barrel 250 hp (355 wildcat). the 310 and 355 means the torque. . some people get confuse when they see this decal on top of the air cleaner. the transmision is the superturbine 300 or know as the st 300. 2 speed only. manuals are 3 spd and 4 spd. rear axle ratios are 3;08 310 auto and 2;78 355 auto. take pictures of the car and cowl tag and we might be able to help more. good luck and hopefully you buy the conv. remember fill your library before you fill your garage. its better to no your chit before you buy.

    Thanx Johnny,
    The trim tag info is in the first post. The engine homework is done. Just wanted to clear up a few things on the trim tag. Buying the car is a definite. I owned a 64 special station wagon back in 72, three on the tree, but moved to the floor as most of these three on the trees were moved. Damn levers at the fire wall always jammed on them. Loved that car, had the 340. Blew first/reverse gear twice in the saginaw. We used to drive the buicks through corners at break neck speeds, now when i get in one of my original buicks and drive, i often wonder how we did what we did back then. And that is with manual drum brakes! This conv. has the 300 in it. Just wondering what the option codes represented.

    Code W is tinted windshiled, as previously noted. Code 2P is backup lights. 5Z I don't have. In case others want to know, 5W is seat belts with retractors.

    The only thing I could think of about the 4, would be convertible top color.

    Thank you Tom,
    I saw another post where the 5z code was for seatbelts, but doesn't mean it was right. The car has an ironing board console in it, but ther owner told me he bought that from someone and stuck it in there.
    Appreciate the info,
    Dennis
