64 Mustang title and VIN

    I have a chance to buy a 64 mustang that is ROUGH but has a cleat title and VIN any market for such???

    any ideas would be looked at ??

    cowl at base of front window. rusted so bad in there due to poor assembly, if that is rusted out out, pass on car.

    Looks super rough, and that looks like a later Windsor engine. Only give more than $1000 for it if its engine code is a K. Then its a 271 HP 289 cube hipo car and worth more. Much more.

    Good thing is that EVERYTHING is availabe new for them, even the body shell.....but so many of them that it makes them not worth much unless they're special like a GT, K code, or Shelby.

    Bought it for $900. A few extra parts came with it.

    Are you sure that's a real Mustang? I thought every one Ford built was red with black interior. Maybe that one's really rare?

    Not that it matters now, but Ford had monumental problems with that color blue. They also had issues with the sub frame rotting out near the rear spring shackles among other places. Like the model T, most Mustang parts are available, but bear in mind that my wife's uncle paid north of $25,000 to have a pretty good one restored about 15 years ago. They are a cheap car that can be a serious money pit. Mustangs were built on the Falcon/Fairlane platform.
