Im building this car into a custom. a new style custom with air ride a big billet wheels. Anyway I need help with a motor swap. The 300 runs great but Its terable to get parts for. And no aftermarket anything. Being this car is apart wiring radiator and acess. are not a big deal to change to whatever will work. what motor will interchange without modifing the motor mounts on the frame and any suspention modifications. will the 401 interchange and are parts available from aftermarket. If this will work does anyone have a motor and trans for sale?

    Tim,

The 340 and 350 Buick will bolt right in using the existing mounts and equipment. The 350 is more common and has more after-market parts. You may have to adapt the exhaust to a new outlet location for the exhaust manifold. The Nailhead 364/401/425 would need quite a bit of adapting and a transmission with a Nailhead bolt pattern before it would fit.

    Tim,

A Buick 350 engine will bolt right up to your ST 300. If you would like an additional low gear to get it moving, the Buick/Olds/Pontiac (BOP) TH 350 transmission is the same size as your ST 300, will use your current driveshaft, gives you three forward gears, and will bolt to a 300, 340, 350, 400, 430 or 455. Then a nice 3.36 or 3.42 rear end would. Sorry, I was starting to get carried away.

    Cheryl :)
