Well just finished my quick make over on my '64 Lesabre (driver). But of course I sold it already. I found my illusive '60 and put the '64 up for sale. The first guy that looked at it just HAD to have it. So here are a few pics before it goes:
Wow!!! The paint job and lighting makes a great ride look kicka__!!!! No wonder he wanted to buy it at first sight!!!
Nice !!! While that '64 looks sweet, I haven't been able to get this image out of my head for months and months now.....and find myself looking at 1960 car ads where I used to skip right over them before Good luck with the new project.
Hey Sean, looks really cool! Is it just the photo or does the paint have a semi-gloss look to it? I really like it, and was wondering how you achieve that effect.
alan - that is the same thing that happen to me after i saw that same car. do you have any info on it or just the pic? ethan - yes it does have a flat finish or sort of a satin finish. i actually was just going to leave it in black primer. but i ended up putting two coats of black basecoat on it with no clear. it's a little "more" black that way.
Have or were you able to wax the paint??? Did you color sand and buff it or anything??? It seams to hav some shine to it. Id love to try and reproduce the same results on my Firebird.
Sean - here's a link to the thread I first posted about that '60 back in Jan - I might have saved another pic of it somewhere's at work....I'll look tomorrow In the link several people say thesy saw the car several times on Ebay.....Maybe follow up with some of them ?? SOMEONE has to know more about that FINE piece of Buick art !!
5k$ Someday I'll get there.... But by then, a car like that will probably be 25k$. I just missed out on a 73 Centurion convt. for 500$ Got sold before I had a chance to look at it. IT IS REALLY COOL. :bglasses: :bglasses: :bglasses: :eek2:
