My dad's neighbor drug up a 64 GS dual quad riv yesterday. It's been sitting underneath a carport for approx. 16 yrs. (Last tagged in 86) Passengers door is beat up pretty good. It will fire, but, he coundn't get it to run. The guy dosen't know squat about nailheads, (didn't even know what one looked like). Decent body. All the usual rust, bottom of rear window, rear 1/4's are bubbling. Trunk floor looked real good. Everything from the back of the doors foreward is very nice. Interior is all intact and useable. Has 2x4's with good original aircleaner. PS, PB, speed minder. Has every piece of trim either on it or in it. Windshield is broken. I looked at it and determined a good cleaning, rebuild a few key pieces, and it should run and drive. What's this car worth. He is asking $3500 for it. I'm trying to get my dad to talk him down. I suspect he didn't pay over $1000 for it. What should I look for on the car? Any hidden rust or other problems?

So, how rare is this thing!

  6. a total count for 64 was 37,958 but they do not break it down for the dual 4's in my book.
for a refeance i saw one on ebay kind of like you are saying and discribing but it went for more than the $2500.
i found a 63 that was rust free and has not been lisence for the past 14 years and does drive and run and with all the options but the dual 4's and we paid $2500 for it.
just the heads and dual carb set ups have been bringing $1200 to $1500 on ebay.
i would say if you can fix it and it looks restorible go for it.
