    Hi,
I'm looking for front spindles and backing plates to convert my 64 Skylark to disk brakes.
    Thanks Bruce

If you want to stick with your existing spindles & wheels, plus off the shelf rotors and calipers, go with Scarebird . If you do a search on v8b, you will find overwhelmingly positive feedback!

I would like to know if anyone has used this brake system, would like to see some feedback from people that have used it.Just might try it myself if it works good.Looks like it requires no permanent mods to the car and a guy can always keep the original parts in a box to convert it back easily enough.I like that part of it.I did a search for the word Scarebird but came up with nothing.

This is the link to a thread with detailed installation info and pics. It would be the same for a '64.
Also, a link to Yardley's Riviera disc Upgrade where he tells just how easy and affordable it is.

Yardley's got a great thread on install and preformance. Called Scarebird today, the front kit for a 64 is $105.00 U.S. This gives you the adapter plates and shims. The rest of the parts you can get from NAPA or another parts store, there standard GM parts, the front calipers are from Celebrity, the lines from a Caprice, They send you a complete information package telling you what you need and how to put it on.
The rear kit is also $105.00, a little more involved to install, won't work with standard 14" rims, you need to remove the back axles and turn down the hub about 3/16", use 79 to 85 Elderado rear calipers and have the emerg, cables made up. Still sounds do able.
    Thanks for the info
    Bruce
