I'm thinking about installing a rear sway bar in my '65 Skylark, and I know I need to have boxed lower control arms. The lower control arms are the same for all A-bodies from 64-72, correct?

Yes they are. You can buy inserts that you weld into your current arms to box them if you want to save some cash.

Hi Dan. I bought Boxed Edelbrock LCA's and used a 7/8" sway bar. Sure made a difference. Bilstein Shocks too.

    Ponch -
I was thinking about getting one of TA Peformance's rear end girdles too... Any clearance issues between the sway bar and the rear end cover?

Hi Dan. Went out to the garage with a cuppa this morning, Folding ruler in hand. Laid down, stuck the ruler in and saw the Sway Bar goes under the Pig. MAAAAN! Just a glance would have told me that. But I was prepared for the worst. So no clearence issues. The Sway Bar I bought was advertised as a Factory 7/8" Bar. I used to watch them being made at the "Factory" in Flint. But now I think you'd have to go haffway around the world to watch them being made. Shame. I was thinking about getting a TA Cover for the coolness factor. But the '70 Stage cars used the same rear end as in ours. With my 350, I think I'll be safe.
    Good Luck Man.

...also. When I put the Bar in, the car was jacked up with the axle hanging. I let it down, went for a ride and a lot of creaking and groaning came from back there. So I had to leave it as it sat, crawl under and re-shim it. Now all is fine. Take heed. You Will be able to tell the difference.

Just finished doing the exact thing to Jewel, new UMI boxed upper and lower arms, new Addco 1" swaybar, TA girdle, and new springs and isolators. Jewel is my 64 and she now rides perfect and corners like she is on rails.

Boxed lower control arms (Dynacorn) and 1" rear say bar (Addco) are on their way to my house.
