'63 LeSabre with a 425?

    Bought this LeSabre that the PO had installed the buckets and console out of a Wildcat in. He reportedly installed the 425 from the Wildcat as well. New guy to Buicks, wondering how one discerns the 425 from the 401. Thanks, Hunter

    you can ID a 425 by the two letter code stamped on the top of the block right in front of the lifter valley cover. If it's a 425 generally the last letter will be a X or W

    A '63 LeSabre would have originally come with a low compression 401 2bbl. carb.
