Wondering if someone could help me,.....a guy in town here bought a 63 Le Sabre 4 dr sedan and it says "Wildcat 375" on the air cleaner. Can someone tell me what the cubic inches are for that engine?
Numbers on the engine are 4J1032948

    I would appreciate your help.
    Thanks!

Thanks for your help Wildcat1562, but I thought the 401 had 445 pounds of torque? Must be they upped that in 64 huh? I haven't seen the motor, but he said it doesn't look like a big block, that's what made me wonder. I appreciate your time and assistance.

Remember: I'd rather be a "hasbeen" than a "might have been" by far,......for a "might have been" ain't never been, but a "hasbeen" was and are!

JS Engine code was indeed for the 1963 401 CI Nailhead with 2 bbl carb in the LeSabre.

265 HP and 9:1 compression ratio.

"Wildcat 375" is also the designation for the high compression 4v-340 available for model years '66-'67.

The 1962-1963 Wildcat 375 is the low compression 401 that runs on regular gas. The standard 2 barrel 401 in LeSabres was the Wildcat 410.
