My bodyman is offering his FACTORY 1963 split window fuelie for sale. Black on black , 4-speed car. Under 70,000(true) miles and he has owned it since the early 1970's. Last plated in 1980. Now has the 340 horsepower set-up on it. Wonderbar radio and NO fuel injection on it at present. Originally a 327 / 365 HP car. No knock-offs either. It is the "Real deal" and he has it for sale (not advertised) locally. It is stored in one of my barns now and we have 3 feet of snow on the ground now. Currently rated @ 340 HP. He knows all of the history on the car and these early fuelies were often carbourated (?) due to nobody who could work on them and get them running from Chevrolet. I do not want to post the VIN # per his request. I have dial up service so pics are a real "chore" for me. Car is 1 hour from South Bend Indiana or Chicago or Kalamazoo Michigan. I will respond to all of the PM's in the order I get them . I doubt that this car will be available for too long. We all know about the Corvette clan. It is a numbers matching car. I can work with the new owner about storage until Spring 2009. Again, I am posting this for a friend. $35,000.00 firm. Regards, Upstaged in SW Michigan. Please include a phone # or e-mail address where you can be reached.

There used to be a '63 Fuelie Vette sitting at a mini storage warehouse right on US 17 in Arcadia,Fla until I snagged it a few years ago. Had to cough up 15K for that one and it was rough, missing the original engine, but had the original 4 speed and 4.10 posi rear. The engine in it was a real '65 Vette 327 HP 4bbl,though. It did have p.windows, wood wheel and factory am/fm in it. It ended up in Maryland. Good luck with your sale. Shouldn't have much trouble selling if it's a real fuelie car.

I will check on the status of the Vette early next week. As far as I know, It has not been sold. There is alot of interest on the car and it's authenticity of being a factory fuelie. Upstaged in Michigan.

Seller's remorse? I do not know if the Corvette has been sold or taken off of the "market" . Alot of the time we have to make hard & personal decisions. Upstaged in Michigan.

Is this car for sale anymore?
I had a very motivated buyer contact you, and he never did get to talk to the owner. Questions about the condition and authenticity were also left unanswered. He also wanted to come see the car, as we live about 3 hours away. This did not happen either.

So what is the deal on this car? Was this just a fishing expedition?

Dale, Just to clarify , I do not "phish" about anything, especially my one and only hobby. I did speak to both the owner of the Vette and your contact. If the owner did not call him back, that is out of my control. Maybe the car is sold, I do not know that . If you want to come down and inspect the car with your "expert", just let me know. I will verify the status of the car to save you a 3 hour drive and myself any conflicts ahead of time. I will not likely use this post in the future since I am just trying to get the "word" out on a friend's car that is / was for sale. Upstaged in Michigan .I have been busy ( actually swamped) with a flooded basement due to the big thaw and heavy rains.

upstaged has been upstage about this. he has called me twice and done what
he can. i think the guy has remorse on selling. i don't blame him. i have a 66gs for sale and i plan on upping the price. it is tough to sell these cars you
never get your money back. personally i want to thank upstaged for his help in trying to sell this vehicle. but if a man is having second thoughts nothing can be done. jim

Upstaged, Sorry didn't mean for that to come off negative.

My guy said you were very helpfull, and a great guy to talk with.

I also understand about having second thoughts.Sometimes its hard to get rid of a car you've had a long time. I was debating on getting rid of my basket case camaro,..but decided to keep it also.:Do No:

Thank You for all you did.:TU: :TU: Let us know if you hear more.

As of today, He is going to keep the Fuelie. He has a customer who brought in 3 1967 GTO's for restoration of varying degrees. He is happy / elated about keeping the Vette and I know the pressure he has been under lately with the crappy economy. The VIN # for the fuelie is 31847F ******. I am glad I do not have the funds for it but this is the year I would want to own. Regards, Upstaged in wet Michigan.
