I'm in the process of restoring a '62 Buick Skylark 2 dr HT (4347) car is pretty straight, however it's burning oil and I want to have the engine rebuilt, contacted remanufactured@comcast.net and intend to call D& D Fabrications on Monday...I live in Las Vegas and may find good machine shop locally, but still would need a engine kit, does anybody know of good suppliers?

I am thinking of using 112 Iskenderian 112 degree cam, does or can anybody offer experience and or recommendations.

    Thanks,

    Ray

    No problem,
I'v used Kanter for years now. While they dont do much for the "hot rod" end of things, you really cant beat them for obtaining parts for "obsolete" engines.

As a side note, the 3.5, 215 lived on for decades after GM stoped making them because Rover [of England] bought the engine from GM. The 215 is actually quite popular outside of the USA to this very day! So a vast array of speed parts are available for it... The problem is locating them here in our country

    Hi Darryl,

Thanks for your e-mail and yes, your right the more I search the more I am looking forward to overhauling engine. Other than Ishie 112 degree I don't think I'll wander away from original engine standards. If I did I'd probably experience transmission problems with too much speed added. D& D Fabrications has everything you need and have kits to support Rover etc.

Been trying to get mag wheels to fit on my 13" drums whih are four bolt lug pattern, I think without changing drums I can use 14"
four bolt lug pattern (4 x 4.5 or 114.3) which are mostly on Japanese cars.

I like your closing line about Buicks making you a poor man, however you sound happy and that's more important.

    Have a nice sunday,

    Ray
