Hi Rick. Nice to see another 61 hitting the streets, she looks real nice. A few more pics would be nice.....:kodak:
OK V-8 Buick People: At least this car made it! I don't know how many REALLY good ol Buicks like this were parted for a restoration that would have gone on just fine without such a good donor car. Boo to them. Yeah to you! Mitch. A guy who's constitutionally incapable of ever parting such a car.
:TU: Thanks for the many comments! I took some time yesterday and "steam cleaned (bissell)" the interior. It looks like some new fabric will be needed as the headliner & seats did not clean up as well as I had hoped. I'm hoping to find some original matching fabric somewhere...o No: The cleaning did seem to rid the car of the rodent odor, so this is good! The door panels, most seat vinyl and dashboard did clean up very well! :kodak: I'll work on posting more pictures sometime in the near future!
HE lives by me in Kent. So that is a real possibility! Interior Fabrics: http://www.smsautofabrics.com/ They're in portland
Rick, any chance the '61 Electra might be roadworthy by late September? A Buick-Olds-Pontiac tour is being organized from Tacoma to Port Townsend and Sequim via the Hood Canal on Saturday, September 26. It would be great if you could join us. I'll drive my '59 Electra, and I think Alex will join us with his '64. We'll try to persuade our friends to drive their '61 LeSabre sedan in the same color combination as your Electra. Please keep us posted! The car looks wonderful. Sergeant Major, are you up for the Sept. 26 event? dmfconsult, if you're checking out this topic, it would be great if you can join us. I'll drop you an e-mail.
