I've got a few questions about the '60 401's..I'll try to keep them short. I'm new to the Buick scene, so show mercy. Is there such a thing as performance parts for the 1960 401? Everywhere I have looked, it's always post '60 parts. Also, what is the difference between the '60 and '61? '62? (like I said, I'm new to these) I guess what I mean is, can the parts be interchanged from a '60 to a 62? Hopefully I am making some kind of sense. Along the same lines, can anyone tell me what transmissions would bolt up to the '60 401? I've heard talk of the TH400, but again this was about a different year engine. Lastly, does anyone know where the carbs can be found? Mine has the electronic switch to start the engine with the gas pedal. I haven't been able to find another one anywhere, and after having mine rebuilt it's still not right. Thanks ahead of time for any help.
