I just bought a hulk of a '58 Buick 2dr sedan with a 3 speed standard transmission. It is complete with column and suspended pedals. I expect this might interchange back to '55, or so. Does anyone know for sure?

55 still had floor pedals, 56 was the first year for swing pedals. 57 sent to the 364" engine and a different bellhousing the same as 58. Not sure what parts you were looking for interchanging. Bellhousing will fit 57-66 364-401-425 but only has the 'small' Buick trans flange pattern, not the 'Chevy' pattern. The trans it self may interchange for quite a few years, as in late forties/early fifties through 59-60-when they went from closed drive to open drive.
    Hope this helps a little.

Thanks for the help. I grabbed this car because it was three speed, and I guess rare. That is why I wnated the interchange info. Too bad it won't bolt to a Chvvy trans.

As soon as I get it cleaned up, I'll start by Googling the part numbers.
