I've had some health issues that are not going to permit me to finish my '56 Buick Riviera stick shift. I was going to make it a retro rod like what I would have done in the '60's. It is a two door hardtop. I should mention I am ASE certified and taught Auto tech in high school for 30 years. I "souped up" the engine with '55 Century pistons, '57 heads (shaved .050") ,'64 cam (journals reground), 1.6 aluminum rocker arm shafts, AFB 4 bbl carburetor, and 2 1/4 dual exhaust with mufflers. The timing chain is new, the cylinders had .002 taper and I used single moly 4" rings. The cam came from a 64 Buick and has new lifters. The bearing clearance is .002. The distributor is from a later 64 nailhead and it has a late model front timing cover seal.
I have driven the car and it's really runs strong. The oil pressure runs about 50 psi at 2000 rpm with 10/30 oil. The master cylinder has been rebuilt and there are newly rebuilt wheel cylinders and new brake lines. The master cylinder is worth over $300 by itself. It needs brake shoes and drums. But it does stop. The gas tank has been removed and I have a kit to restore to inside.
The trans shifts great, the clutch is smooth and the rear end is 3.90:1
Other parts that will go with the car are: 56 distributor, 2 bbl manifold and carb with air cleaner, 56 cylinder heads, headlight buckets, extra 60 series wheels wheels, right front fender headlight panel, lower rear quarter behind the wheel panel sections, and 3 outer tie rod ends. The car now has to be towed because I was going to fix the front floor and removed the rust damaged section and seat.
I'm realistic about the value and only want what someone feels is fair, which is $2000, and I live in Munster, Indiana 46321.
