I just purchased a 53 Special with a 70 buick 350 and TH350 trans swap. The issue is that the original steering box needs to be removed for the exhaust manifold to fit. There is an article in the Crankshaft Coalition that outlines the install of a rack and pinion in a 41 Pontiac (very similar front ends) but doesn't cover the fab work on the mount cradle -crossmember, what rack they used, etc. Anyone done this or know of someone that has that could help me out with specifics?
