Hello, I found out when I got my car checked out with the roll bar installed that the Y type belts will not be legal in IHRA next year, I also hear the same for NHRA. I just want to let others know if anyone is planing on getting a new harness. I just got a new Y type and with the 4 year deal so I am SOL and will have to get new belts again next year. I didn't find this out till after I got the new belts, no wonder I got a good deal on them:laugh: :ball: Tom
I'm pretty sure that the article in National Dragster that detailed NHRA's rule said that no NEW Y-type installations would be accepted after this year, but existing installations would be accepted until they expired. I'll check into that. I'm in the same boat you are, I just replaced my belts last week. Have fun.
Hi Jeff, I hope that is how it works. I will have to ask the tech guy next time I race if I can use up the belts I have. Tom
