hello, 2nd time this has happened, the first time the wire fell off the sending unit and simply put back on, and it worked. This time I cant remember the local to the sending wire hook up to the block. The wire at the Thermostate is the wire to the ECM and monitors engine temp for idle etc., Can any one help with the simple fact of where is the sending unit and color of the wire to find and hook up? , This should be a 455 car not a 305, would make a big difference.

My experience tells me that the normal position for the engine temp indicator sender is on the cylinder head, typically between the third and last cylinder. It could be on either side of the engine, but is typically between the third and last cylinders. Ray
