Forgive me i forgot what its called or what its used to identify. I might be what decides weather or not its a GS or a Hi po 455 or stock. o No: Can someone tell me what it is and where to find it. I know Adam did awhile ago but i forgot. ou: TIA
Here's a picture. It's around 1:00 o'clock from the dipstick hole. Clean the surface good w/carb cleaner and a wire brush or screwdriver or something.
Yeah but,,,, If it is for your 72 Riv, shouldn't it be in the VIN too, (like the GS)??? A "V" I think in the 5th position.
If you want to check the VIN on the block, look on the passenger side behind the lower rad hose. Occasionally, it may be on the drivers side front surface of the block just below the deck. Again, you'll need cleaner to see it. The secon digit of the VIN on the block is the year. The VIN in this photo shows a 5 so it's a '75.
