    Hello Everyone,
I recently purchased a 455 stage 1 that came out of a 70 GSX originally I think. I am doing a complete rebuild of the engine with a bigger cam upgrade, all new bearings top to bottom, a new oiling system, a new fuel pump, a new intake, long tube headers with flowmaster 30 series mufflers with dumps, I'm getting an angle cut job on the valves, a K&N air assembly, not sure what carb to use(any ideas??), I'm planning on running NOS in the immediate future. Anyone out there have any know anything that I could get done that I have not mentioned that can give me a good bang for the buck?? I'm mainly using the car on the street but will be racing it every now and then. Anyone out there that can help me you can send me an e-mail to geraldlynch@hotmail.com.

    Thanks in advance,

    Gerald Lynch

    not sure

I'm not entirely sure what happened to the car my guess is its long dead now the engine salgged a bearing on the crank in the late 70's I'm told and the engine has been in the guys garage out of the car ever since in storage. It was never mentioned what happened to his car. I hope I have good luck with th rebuild. Thanks.

Anyone out there be able to suggest me a good cam for this engine and a carb??

Look at the cam shootout on the dyno on the Tri shield's website. There is difference of opinion but I think I have seen more good dyno sheets with the 950 HP.

For street use a good choice is a 800 Q jet.

Can you ask the guy what happened to the car.

Also if you look on the deck in the number 1 spark plug hole and the hole where the dipstick went and read the numbers we can tell you something about the engine.

Find out what happened to the GSX, by all means. There aint that many of them -- might be possible to track the car down. Can almost guarantee you the owner of that car would give you (far?) more than that engine is worth just to get it back.

    NOS

Gerald - why do you think you need NOS? I think you'll find the 455 has more than enough power....:Brow:

Well you know the old saying too much power is almost enough. I guess I use that principle. You can never really have enough power. Well at least thats what I'm saying for now.
