If someone was to locate a 455 SS engine block? Would you have to locate the Stage 1 Crankshaft and Rods to make it a true '70 Stage 1 engine or can any BBB 455 crankshaft /rods be concidered the correct items?
    Thanks

Same crank-- different valves and cam.

The power is in the head work. I think there is an ss code block on ebay. If you do not have some need for the code . You just need to find a good block without paying the premium for the SS code. Many think the 75-76 blocks were the best combined with 70-71 heads reworked.

Next question? Would the aftermarket Heads by TA be suitable for a Stock build? What other choice is there?
    Thanks

These guys that build them say the TA Al heads out of the box flow close to what some of the best iron ported heads flowed and for a lot less money. It is the combo package but the heads can be a limiting factor. Then there is a recurved distrbutor, the intake, perhaps TA also, the big carb, perhaps 950 HP, and the headers, TA shorties if you do not like the hung low problem.
