im getting ready to fire up my rebuilt 455. is there anything i should be aware of about this motor before i start it up. this is my first buick rebuild. everything on it is stock. ive heard a lot of bad things about oil circulation in these motors. what should my oil psi be at idle. should i get that oil pressure regulator from ta or will i be alright without it since evry thing is stock. also does anyone know where i can get some original stock motor mount pads for this motor. all info is appreciated.

Very important to pack the oil pump with petroleum jelly, this primes the pump to initialize flow. I also circulated oil through the engine before startup. TA sells the tool. Simply remove the distributor and the tool slips over the pump shaft. Or as I did, you can make this tool out of an old srewdriver and socket. Break the handle off an old screwdriver and slip a socket down over the screwdriver shaft. Socket needs to be a small enough drive for the screwdriver head not to pass through. Chuck this up in your cordless drill and your ready to prime your motor! :Brow: Good Luck!!!
