Well, here's my 455 just before total rebuild, so far.:bglasses:

Brian (Albrecht), I took this picture for you, with your "Stage 2 Shaker" idea. What do you think? I think it would definitely be cool, with the hood cutout for the scoop!:TU:

Disregard the "mismatching" valve covers, it's for Display Purposes only, right now.:moonu::laugh:

Here's what the "final" assembly will be closer to, with the Star Wars Air Cleaner on the Offy Dual Quad:

    Looks good!

How are you lengthening the SW aircleaner?

Actually, Clint, my original idea was to cut the back 1/4 off of one SW aircleaner, and the front 1/4 off of another, and splice them together.

Since I've been studying it, and I know that I want the SW aircleaner to be "Raised" through an opening in a 4" Cowl Hood, I'm working on a "custom" Airbox that will have 2 Main purposes:

    1) To direct airflow from a Single aircleaner into Both carburetors
    2) To raise the SW aircleaner through the Hood

Here's a diagram of what I'm going to try to design/build:

I think I get it... run the regular SW aircleaner above the cowl hood and duct it down into both carbs. Won't that ge a little tall, or will the aircleaner sit kind of recessed into the cowl?

Neat idea, I always thought that thing deserved to be out where it can be seen. It would make a neat shaker hood for a single carb system as well but you'd get a lot of "nice custom airbox" comments from the chevy crowd

    More "recessed" into the Cowl!:bglasses:

In the drawing above, I drew the SW Aircleaner ABOVE the Air Filter, just to show how it will go together. The SW Aircleaner will actually go DOWN over the air filter, and will sit directly on the "Airbox"!:TU:

    Hi Scott,

The idea excites me even more when you place that scoop on there like that. Right now I am very consumed with my '69 project car and that leaves little time for the '73 that I want to modify with the SHAKER. Whose version of the Scoop is that? Is it Postons? It looks well made.

    Brian,
Yes, that's a Poston scoop! All I have to figure out is how to build a "base" to attach the scoop to the carb, and we'll be good to go!:TU:

Clint, you don't have to "ask" for pictures, I'll definitely post them!:TU::bglasses:
