I can't find an accelerator cable for my 70 GS 455. Does anybody know where I can find one? I also need the bracket that holds it to the manifold. Is there anything that either of these interchange with? I got a cable from a chevelle, it looks ok, but I think it's too long. Please Help!!!!!ou:
I had trouble finding a cable for my 455 swap. Lokar sells a nice universal one. www.Lokar.com Part #TC-1000U Not sure about the bracket. John
Auto Zone and Advance carry a brand called "Pioneer" that has cables for a Chebby that fit and are identical. http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=25710&highlight=pioneer
accel cable I called pioneer and they said that they don't have anything for a car before 1976, but I am going to call Lokar, I have used their stuff on other projects, and it has always been top notch. I am using TA's SP1 intake, the cable I have is a little long I think, I am going to try cutting the one I have first. Does anyone know what length it should be?
I did 350 to 455 swap in my 69 skylark. I was able to use the same cable and drill a new hole in the bracket on the manifold to make it work. Probably lots of guys on this website may have one from a 350.
soloution? I fabricated a bracket that holds the cable to the manifold. When the bracket is in place, the cable from the chevelle seems to work properly with no modifications. I will have to wait till the engine runs to know for sure, but it seems to be ok. For those of you that may run into a similiar problem, I got the chevelle cable off e-bay for about $9.00 + shipping. It is brand new in the GM bag. The guy is always selling them. The only thing is that you have to buy a ball stud to attatche the cable to. I have a Barry Grant Carb, so it wasn't difficult, but you guys out there running Q-Jets may have it a little tougher, I don't know.o No: Thank you all for your help!!!!! You guys are great:beer Rob
