I'm very sorry that this has turned into an inconvenience to interested parties, I did mention in this Ad, and the ad for the pistons, that the rods and pistons could go as a package, I'm grateful that people were interested in the rods, but if someone jumped in on the piston ad and said "i'll take the pistons and rods package, as mentioned", that would change things, being that my goal is to sell my stuff, I would hope there would be an understanding, it may cause others to be "unhappy", but the AD did have this info. in it... Also, back on 2/22 I posted the AD "455 Racing shortblock for sale", Herb addressed that thread showing interested, not in the weather, politics, or the price of tea in China, but interested in the item I had posted "for sale". So he showed interest first, I guess he need more time to think, or whatever, but I ended up pulling it apart and posting the items from the shortblock, well now Herb has reconsidered and would like to buy my shortblock, where does that put me, actually in a place that makes me happy, and hope the he'll be happy too, getting the items he wants. My goal was to sell my stuff and it is about to happen, I 'm very sorry if this has caused problems for people involved with theses items and ADs. Our "community is small, and I have always, and will always respect "our community", I'm not a liar, I always be more than fair with my sales, and with sharing info. on this board. So I'm sorry if anyone was "led on" in any way, if more than one person is seriously interested in buying an item, all but one will be upset.... Sounds like I'm on the losing ending end of this deal. I too would rather be in Gary's shoes (getting rid or all parts). I see where Herb is coming from by realizing this is a matched set. So it sounds like if I buy the rods, Gary is stuck with a set of pistons (and a crank, balancer, junk flywheel, and etc.), parts that happen to be available now. Not calling anyone a liar, just trying to follow the rules set by this board.
The only thing I would add to this is... With an assembly like this, do not post a "part out" add, while your still trying to sell the whole thing.. Work thru all previous replies on the original add for the motor, and then remove that add, before posting adds to sell pieces. Would have avoided the whole deal here. JW
So.............what I get out of your reply Jim is that "it's not your problem and your staying out of it" Is that it? What forum rules? If he was talking about buying the complete package then why did Gary take it apart and want to sale parts seperatly? After all that "deal" was supposed to be last week. If I am screwed out of them, then I will delete my account as this is the second time now something like this has happened to me.
I wouldn't turn this on Jim or make it his problem. Mike I will forward a pm that I sent last week to Gary and i'll let you decide if I was in line for this stuff way before anyone else. I understand your frustration but after you see my pm I am hopeful that you will feel differently.
Michael, I am sorry that this worked out not in your favor, but what exactly would you like me to do? As I sit here, it appears that he is in fact selling the parts to the first person in line, albeit from another add for more or less the same merchandise. I did exactly what I can, called him out on that. If that is not good enough for you and your leaving in a huff, then that's too bad, you have some good boosted power experience to share.. but whatever.. Had this been a clear cut case, then I certainly would take strong action against the users in question, as I have in the past. But from where I sit, this is not so cut and dried.. JW
It is not clear but if all else the rule that you (or whoever) put in place says "you have 48 hours" to respond to the ad. 1. I was first responder to his ad. 2. It was a week since there last responce. As I write this, it may be my last post. Deffently in this section as I know I will not be buying anything off this board again. I know some other people are following this thread to see how it plays out. In losing me, you will also lose a few more.
