I'm ready to drop the 47k SF455 in the SLCustom/GSX Replica after the Great 350 4v, a Good and Faithful Servant, went 302k. Do you use the 350 Frame Mount Bolts or are the 455s Different? Thank You, Marty
455's are different. With 350 mounts the engine will fall out to the passenger side and hit the ground and bounce twice LOL !! ws
Seriously, aluminum BOLTS?? I was just trying to be a S/A with the picture and didn't even see the "bolt" part. That's like a shear pin on a 250 horse outboard motor. ws
The bolts themselves are PROBABLY 1/4 to 3/8 inch shorter for the 455. They just go through the metal of the frame and thread into the motor mount casting itself. Try using one of the 350 bolts and thread it into the 455 mount, just for 'sits and kittens' With a lock washer on the bolt, you should have less than 1/4 inch of the stock showing when bottomed out in the mount. Be sure to use grade 8 bolts, and loctite blue. By the way, have fun taking the 350 bolts out; it is REALLY fun getting the 455 bolts IN!!! I think the factory did it on the frame upside down, before the suspension A-arms were installed.
Thanks Steve, left, driver side was a breeze, except I was too dumb to pull the 1st two out with the telescopic magnet, so 10 times longer fishing them out of the frame So the 350 bolts should be strong enough for the 455? Thanks Again, Marty
Sorry, I read it wrong. TA has 455 aluminum Frame Mounts. Not BOLTS. Sorry TA. I think I'm cracking up Nobody would make Alum. FM Bolts. DOES ANYONE CARRY 455 FRAME MOUNT BOLTS. Thank You, Marty
Just get grade 8 bolts, check for length and size(3/8" I think), verify frame mounting holes a lil loctite and have fun......
