I have decided to change direction with my Skylark project. With that, I want to put up my freshly rebuilt 455 up for sale. All machine work was done by Budlong Motorsports in Albuquerque, NM ( he is a former GN racer). I screwed the motor together in the evenings over the last year. Both rods and mains clearances were verified to be between .0015 and .002". Being very particular everything has been maticuasly cleaned and or blasted. For example all bolt marking match. Example is the head bolts all are cleaned and have the same stampings. Oops, forgot the price. I have about $3000 into it, so I am thinking $2000 obo. There is a Edelbrock intake available for an additional price.
Just be sure to cover well with cardboard, then wrap in BLACK or some other opaque plastic to keep prying eyes out, and band it well to the pallet. Evidently shipping "car parts" attracts a lot of attention...You will likely have to describe what you are shipping on a bill of lading.
I've done this make sure its insured. I had no access to a strapping tool so I bought a pack of ratchet straps at Auto Zone for 12.00 and secured it with them. Also mark the package 3502bbl that would probably stop most of the interest
