455 block

Hi,
I have a 455 block for sale.

The block has been recently inspected at a local machine shop. Cylinder bores measure .040 O/S, machine shop says it only has .002 taper and would make for a great re-ring. Needs honed, hot tanked, new freeze plugs and cam bearings. Price is $75. Local pick up only please. I live in Springfield VA.

What is the production code stamped on the deck?

I will have to get back to ya. The block is still at the machine shop. I should have that info on monday.

casting number = 1231738
right above the casting number is A - 28

 

A26 is the casting date of the block. There should be a two letter code stamped on the outer edge of the driver side deck - if the deck hasn't been milled. This dentoes the application of the block.
