I was messing around on eBay today and came across a 450 cfm Holley Q-Jet replacement. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33550&item=2461587801
I'm sure one's economy would be boosted, but how would a stock 350 run on this? What would it do to the performance off the line and from a rolling start? How would the engine operate in daily driving? Not that one would race with a carb like this, but would you be embarrassed to operate it on the street?

It would probably suck. I'm told the 350 engines like 750 cfm.

Before I knew as little as I know now, a shop told me a 4-barrel 600 Holley would be a replacement for my broken Q-jet, so I got one. It wasn't.

With only the primaries working, the Q-jet pulled harder than the brand new 600cfm Holley. Also, the Holley hurt my mileage.

I think a 450 would be seriously undercarbing the engine.

The Q-jet like all air valve 4 bbls adjusts it's flow to engine demand. If the engine wants a certain CFM, the carb supplies it up to it's rated capacity. The 750 Q-jet is the best carb for a 350.
