I remember years back KB sold 440 intake adapters to use an Edelbrock Victor on a 455. I've read that this set up didn't flow well, but I was talking to a friend who argued that it out flowed the Wildcat and SP according KB. Anybody have any experience with this setup? I can remember the Buizilla 528 article in Hot Rod(?) had one on it. Anybody ever run one of these?

    KB Adaptors

Yes I have seen them used, actually my engine guy did on the last engine he was dynoing for me. They work find and you can match them and do any porting you need. You have one issue to deal with and that is the water going through the intake. Because of the type of manifold he is using he ran the water out of the front of the heads. Since he was building a Nostalgia engine and using an older intake I don't know how the latest intakes would compare to the Wildcat. First pulls had the older intake within 11 hp of the Wildcat (a ported one at that). I think with some of the new Chrysler intakes out there you can make some gains.

Thanks, Jim. That's interesting info. I've never seen one used, but the Edelbrock Victor 440 intake is a good looking intake. I can remember that it was a hot set up years ago, but doesn't look like it's done anymore. I had the article somewhere on the KB Buizilla 528 but I can't rememeber what magazine it was in.

The intake adapters were popular back years ago when no intakes other than the B4B and offy intakes. Now we have intakes available that easily feed the 455's so the adapters are not necessarily needed.
I know the coolrunner was originally designed from using a mopar intake with the kb adapter plates way back when.

Hmmmmm. Good info. Makes sense that the KB Cool Runner looks alot like the Edelbrock Victor. Thanks for the info Jim.:TU: :beer

rh455, I just happen to remember that you can not use the 440 intake with the adaptors but must use a "low deck" (383-400) intake with the adaptors. Don't know why I didn't notice that before.
    Thanks
