Hi I am new to this site! I have one big question, I have a 82 cutlass and Im getting tired of putting motors in it, my brother has a 68 430 sitting around. Will this fit in the cutlass, what mods will I have to do for this, will it bolt up to the 350 tranny and what about motor mounts? What are the ups and downs of the 430 there isnt much on here about them?
Yes it wil fit, and they are great motors, all 400, 430, and 455 are mostly the same. You will need frame pads from (www.taperformance.com, or www.postonbuick.com), they will also have headers for that app. if nessary.
Check out the regals with extra cylinders section on this board... cutlass is basically the same as the regal... gbody. A lot of guys including me all have big blocks (and small blocks) in gbodys. read through all the posts first, and if you have any specific questions, lay it on us, one of us will have the answer.
