hi guys. I've posted a few things about rebuilding my 300, or what to do with my 430. But all my buddies are putting some mad cash into their motors and i really want to shut them up with some buick power.
I've got a 68 430. I want it blue printed to street/strip specification. Poston cam, postons intake mani., and a complete engine rebuild.
What else should i be doing with it. Hot tank, head work? and what kinda price range am i looking at minus the cam and intake? my budget is around $3k and i'm wanting a 4spd manual conversion. But i've got a guy that said he sell me his 4spd muncie set up out of his 65 buick BB.
Help me out here, i plan on racing my buddies 67 stang here in the next 5-6 months.

AJ the first thing you must consider is taking it to a machine shop that can provide you with references to someone that has had a Buick motor done there with postive results.

Ditto on the machine shop, do not buy one part until you have the engine completely disassembled, cleaned and inspected.
I recommend you put a post on this forum and "The Bench" to ask for help finding a quality machine shop in you area, or even consider shipping your engine to a known quality shop.
You'll also need to post your entire combo here and what type of driving you plan on doing so that the guy's here can help you with cam, intake, carb, ignition, compression, and zillion other details.
    Good Luck

And no offence, ditch the Poston intake. The S-Divider flow horible.

Run the edelbrock or the TA Performance SP1.

As far as cam I would say Poston GS113a or GS107/118A, If you wan't more than that the GS110 is a good cam.

Or TA's cams are great too.(They also have a bunch of new grinds)

    Just trying to help
