I have checked with many other sources and thing maybe this would be a good place to check as well. I have a running 401 wildcat 445 in a 64 buick. a super turbine 400 what would be the value of these two piecescombined or separate?
Depends who in your area really needs one. I can tell you 64-66 nailhead/tranny combos are popular and in demand right now because of the surge in the rod market. The 425 is most sought after for obvious reasons. Assuming your engine and tranny is good running condition but would need a rebuild before someone would install it in there project, I'd say somewhere in the $800-1300 range but remember there are always exceptions in both directions depending how much effort you take to market it, how long you want to wait for buyer, How big (population) your local market is, the time of year, How close a buyer is to you (transportation costs) etc. Price can vary quite a bit based on those factors.
I paid $300 for my seized 425 which had been sitting in a field for three years. I paid about the same for a THM 400 to fit it (which I had rebuilt, but never used). You don't want to know how mucho dinero I had invested in the 425 on the day that I finally started it for the first time.
