I just did an oil change in my `65 GS and i put 3 quarts plus one in the filter 4 all together and the oil level is full on the dipstick,is this correct?i`m used to 4 quarts plus one in filter 5 on the 455`s.

    Thanks

George, It should be 4+1(filter). 5 total. After you add the oil and run the engine for the leak check, you can etch a new "full" line for your own reference.

Frank, but why does the dipstick show full?i remember on my other `65 GS that i used to own i had put 5 all together and remember seeing the dipstick show me way past full mark?

    Thanks

My 66 GS also shows full after 4 qts

It's just the way they all seem to be. I have to keep it one quart high to keep it right

You have a center sump dipstick if 5 quarts won't line up with full line.
