What is the value of the 401 nailhead motor? I have one that was in a 66 fully optioned Skylark and the heads have been removed (I still have them though) just curious if this is something that I should look into rebuilding, or??????

PS I am unsure if it is the 325 or 340 HP version, any clues?

TIA , as I am a noob when it comes to Buick engines.

Send us the casting numbers and stamped numbers near the front and we can tell you exactly.

The 401 was only avail in the 1966 Skylark GS.
The standard Skylark got a 300 or 340.
401's have the distributor in the back, 300/340's have it in the front.

After getting the car home I realized it is not a nailhead :ball: but a regular 340!
