    Hello Buick friends
Does any body have sound from a 401 Nailhead or tip of links that have it.
I hope you understand what i mean. My english is a little bit rusty.
I have just bought a 1963 Riviera that comes to Sweden in middle of juli.
I cant almost sleep at night waiting for it.
    Im i sick or what?????
I hade before a 66 Skylark Gransport but the 401 engine was replaced with a Buick 350 by owner before me. :ball:
    Finally i get a 401 nailhead
    Best regards Janne

    Janne,

Below are two links to my 425 (401s big sister). I ran it in using my 65 in January, but it belongs to my 66 convertible. The engine was built three years ago, and I could not stand not knowing how it would run. It is now sealed up tight and sitting in the 66 frame for now while I try to finish my 65. Yours will idle a little smoother as mine has an aftermarket cam and ported heads, but it should give you an idea of what to expect.

    Cheryl :)

    Idle

    Some RPM

I am glad someone liked it Ted! It was a relief to hear it run and run well. I had not used this machine shop before, and was worried about how well they would do (although I did check all clearances and measurements during assembly). The compression was good and there was no vibration. Carmen can set up a Q-jet for a Nailhead equal to the AFB. Too bad it will probably sleep another three years. :(

    Cheryl :)
