    Hi guys,

I would like to know what is the name of the steel part that inserts into the valve side of the rocker. Part# would be great too!

One of mine is cracked and i need to find out if they are available somewhere.

    Thank you,
    Gary

There is a place outside Redding California called rocker arm specialties.... They rebuild the rocker assy's, or at least they used too. They are in Lake Shasta City I believe.

    Good luck!

    Thanks Chris and Mr62Buick.

I need to get a few other things from Carmen so i guess i'll add it all up and make one trip. I just wanted to know if they were still available from GM or NAPA etc. and also wanted to know the name of these.

BTW Chris, i still haven't seen your car did you get it finished yet?
I've seen John's car once, and still need to meet up with him to exchange a part.

    Cheers guys,
    Gary

I bought a set from TA Performance about 2 years ago. Give them a try.

Thanks Riviman. I have a few more quick questions.

    (1) Do you punch the old one out and press the new one in?

    (2) Approximately how much did they cost for the set?

    (3) What is the correct name for this part?

    Cheers,
    Gary

I looked on their site and did not see them. They tapped right out pretty easy. Then just tap them in. The name they called them escapes me but it must be close to Nailhead rocker arm tips. As for price I do not remember.

Thanks Super-(Rivi)-Man. I'll call TA and see if i can get some. Three out of four rocker arm assemblies have one of these tips broken or cracked. I guess it's a lot of pounding for such a small piece.

    What's your name?

They offer a NEW aluminum rocker arm that is adjustable and beefier than the originals with some extra webbing in strategic location(s). Can't help with price but would say they were for the guy doing a complete head rebuild. I think I have a pic somewhere.
