401 Nailhead, with almost everything redone and partly assembled. All machine work done at Carlquist Competition in Oakville, a highly regarded performance shop, totaling $3000 with receipts and 3 pages of spec sheets. Single original Rochester 4 bbl carb. Painted in Cast Blast, with powder-coated dull silver valve covers. The bottom end is assembled with new .030 pistons, crank and rods in place properly clearanced, heads mildly relieved and torqued down. Carmen Faso-sourced Cam in place, and that is where I left off. I have mostly everything (no starter) else new in boxes to complete, including rocker arms (apart but with new shafts and caps), lifters, pushrods, rebuilt water pump, gaskets, stainless hardware kit, new timing chain, distributor etc etc.... Lots of stuff to make this engine for a hot rod is included--correct oil pan and pick up, for manual trans, balanced flywheel, exhaust mounting plates for fabricating a header system. Only have original exhaust manifolds so far. Tom Telsco, Nailhead guru, guided my son and I through the rebuild, making sure I did all the right stuff specific to these motors. He did the carb over completely, and it is ready to run.
